Check-in on the Base #17: Darke Hall Vinyl Release is Tonight
Vinyl release party, Lachlan's "Arizona", and the opening grain prices
Howdy Readers,
Tonight’s the night. The vinyl release party for my double LP, “What’s Left of the Right”. And hence, the completion of this album release’s first phase. The whole thing is an out of the box approach to push back slightly on industry standards and expectations and between offering the record as a free gift to paid subscribers and playing a big ol’ theatre tonight without really releasing any singles, it genuinely feels like I carved my own path this round. I sure am grateful to all of you that showed your support in one way or another. I saw and felt it all. Thank you. (You have until the end of today, February 2, to claim your free album with a paid subscription!)
As soon as tonight’s show is behind us I’m jumping back into the producer’s chair and making Lachlan my focus for the week. There are announcements to come on multiple fronts and you know what they say about the wicked…
Speaking of Lachlan - he dropped a field recording that we did together this past summer. A new tune called “Arizona”. Check it out.
I mentioned it in the “Check-in” but a heartfelt thank you to Gloria Evans and Cody Glydon at 620 CKRM for making a childhood dream come true for me yesterday. I always told my Dad that I would read the opening grain prices for him someday and it finally happened. I had a good tear-up as I was doing a run through but I kept it together once I was on the air.
Alright Crew, Darke Hall tonight with Belle Plaine and Lachlan Neville for the release of my double LP “What’s Left of the Right” - if you are going to be in attendance and have a paid subscription to this Substack, I will be hanging out at the merch booth following my performance and make sure that your record gets put in your hand. Again, it’s mentioned in the “Check-in” but I gotta thank y’all for your patience, I wanted all albums to be mailed out before this show but I only have so much bandwidth. They are a-coming. Sure appreciate the patience with me.
