Check-in on the Base #20: Home Is Where The Farm Is
New single, old home videos, and hand-written lyrics
Howdy Readers,
Another new single hit the streaming platforms today!
“Home is Where The Farm is” is the second track to feature Belle Plaine on the album alongside “Farming Wives”.
I didn’t necessarily plan to produce a full-length music video for this tune but in an attempt to create some accompanying visuals, I went down the old home video rabbit hole. I stumbled across the very first time I was put on a tractor to spend a day in the field. An old Massey and hay rake. Mom literally filmed me getting the run-down from Dad and as soon as tape was cut they jumped in the truck and headed home. No cell phone, 12 years old, good luck kid.
(A quick shot of Dad hanging out around a fire with us was the clip before it - I kept it in. Sure hard to Dad in his early 40s.)
The last few months leading into this upcoming release (next Friday!) has been a remarkable show of support. From the turn-out for the vinyl release to the feedback on the singles and LP, merch sales to music videos. Thanks again, crew.
I’m giving away these hand-written lyrics to the new single. All you have to do is comment, post, share something about “Home is Where the Farm is” on your socials and tag me in it. I’ll pick somebody in the coming days.
