Check out The Naked Mind by Annie Grace. Full of good info re: alcohol. Me too, brother.

Interesting topic, strikes close. I have learned that the offspring of 1 alcoholic has a 50% of becoming one as well as the offspring of 2 alcoholics raises that to70%, more so in males. I too have chosen an alcohol free life. You may just have saved your life by quitting for good! Way to go!

The statistics check out. I did close the piece with "I'd like to lessen its importance". Always asking myself why? Why did I quit? Obvious benefits to it but knowing why will make it stick. It was actually writing this piece that brought me closest to answering, yet.

Not that my opinion means much....but I am proud of the no drinking. As you may know I am over 34 years and seem to be doing o.k. One can live well without it. Keep on keepin on Blake.

I carry such a reverence for those that make the decision and are steadfast for decades. Beautiful.

Aw, hey Connie. Thanks for following along. I'm going to have to bring the family out to the corn roast in August. Miss y'all.

Hi Blake, that is quite an achievement. My thoughts linger to a time when we shared some alcohol on the Viarail, reminiscing our chilhood and adolescence, when you shared the background of your song, Where have all our horses gone. Wherever you travel I wish you will meet inspiring people who will support your journey!

On the ViaRail! What a pleasure. Man, how cool is it having a morning coffee in the dining car at 6:00 AM? Incredible.

It really feels like...why would a guy wanna again? That said, I'm always asking buddies if I can sniff their beer. Usually that does it for me...haha.

That’s how I beat Copenhagen . Still to this day if someone breaks out a tin I need to have a sniff to stop my mouth from watering
